Val has summited!
Val has summited Mount Everest, reaching the top just before sunrise! Everything is going well and she is resting at South Col.

About Valerie Hovland
Val lives in Boulder, Colorado, where she loves the adventurous people, easy access to climbing and hiking, all of the sunshine, and her boyfriend and two cats. In addition to exploring the heights and challenges of Colorado, she has climbed in the Cascades, Tetons, Alps, Mexico, and made three trips to the Himalaya, reaching the summit of Ama Dablam in 2004 and Shishapangma (central) in 2005. Val’s travels prompted her to transition careers from engineering hybrid vehicles and fuel cells into now spending her time at a strategy firm protecting biodiversity and reducing poverty around the world.
